An Amazing Breed: The Rhodesian Ridgeback
Without a doubt the various dogs have their admirers - and the Rhodesian Ridgeback is no different. We wouldn’t be surprised about anyone bragging about a breed of dog that they own themselves - but what about people that don’t own a dog at all? Would we expect such a person to brag about someone elses dog?
Such is the case with the Rhodesian Ridgeback. It seems that almost everyone that meets this breed is left with a memorable impression of this regal canine - even those that don’t have one, nor are even planning to get a dog! Hows that for braggin’ rights?
The Rhodesian Ridgeback dog is simply in a class of its own. Known by pragmatic hunters for its fearless protection of its master, to its gentle demeanor towards the most helpless creature, the Rhodesian Ridgeback is unparalleled in the kingdom of canines in versatility, stature, and temperament.
The personality of this dog certainly has something to do with its attractiveness. He seems to exude intelligence and nobility. The first meeting always “feels” somewhat tentative, during which time he sizes you up, making certain you are not a threat to his domain - or at least this is the impression one is left with after a first encounter. Expect to feel a little “unnerved” when you meet your first Ridgeback, but don’t fear. These dogs are not aggressive as long as no threat is made toward the pack - and in most cases, the family is the pack.
